Like the low angle, nice light, and choice of aperture. Eye contact is good, and exposure is perfect. It'd be nice if the wings were fully outstretched but it's a keeper anyhow. Nicely done!

Cool pose, good sharpness and eye contact. A lower angle would have made it even stronger, I know... :)

Very nice! In addition to the positives above, I like the background. Just enough variation in color to let us know what the environment is without distracting from the main subject.

Great light and pose. I am OK with angle, but myself would have been flat out on my belly! :)

    Hey Denise,
I'm with Doug that the outstretched wings would make this stronger.....but a vey nice shot as presented too......so fo the rest.....OK.....I'll bite......how would even lower benefit this image??? Am I missing something.......we have eye contact here and an eye level angle.....why the lower comments? Curious on that comment.

Lou, It was my first time there. The water was fairly calm. We were shooting in a small cove. I'm sure it was bad a few days before-but I didn't really see any signs of it.

I'm not going to comment on the shooting angle because it would be a totally different image had Denise chosen to get lower and I think there are merits in both. I do like the upper bg here, but the dirty bottom part where he is feeding is not my taste, but it was Denise's. Whenever I see birds with wings in this position, I feel as if they need virtual room to stretch their wings into. As it is, bird feels cramped and perhaps a vertical if you have the room might be a possibility. (Sorry for the long-winded thoughts!)

Excellent exposure Denise, and love the feeding pose. Im not sure you could have got lower, as the angle looks great to me. I like the overall colours in this, and well captured.
