    D3 200-400mm lens.

    This carcass is of a white rhino bull which was killed in a territorial dispute.This was the second morning and there was not a lot left... the spotted hyena were very weary as lions were nearby. The jackal took advantage of this ...

    What an interesting image, you could spend a while finding things. What's with the jackals back, missing the fur?

    Fabs...this is a black backed jackal....the colorings and markings are normal... not to certain if thats what you are refering to....
    Dave.. appreciate your comments... It was a lovely surprise to get the phone call from nikon...
