Is the background too dark for high key? I'm still getting used to the idea of such brightness.

Hi Hazel, I think a tighter crop may help to eliminate some of the busy BG and tone down the image a bit also. I think that you have a lot of detail missing from your whites. Sometimes it is hard to keep detail in the white when we go for the high-key images.

Hi Hazel, Your image has a softness that is appealing but I would also like to see a bit more detail. There seems to be alot of noise in the image. Not sure if that was created in PP or a severe crop...

    Hello Hazel,

If you cropped this and have extra canvas on the left, I would include that and reduce the right border so the center of the subject flower is in the lower quadrant of the image. Centering as you have it is appropriate for a balanced image, but the other objects cause this to be unbalanced and therefore it is better to go back to the rule of 1/3rds.

Attached is an example of the above. The black area is the added border to provide the composition as noted.

    Your image ... Your vision.

Nice theme and a little work, as noted by others, will give you good results.

Great subject and excellent work, Hazel. I agree with the comments above. One of the distingusing features of hk image is that the tones are almost white but still retaining just a hint of detail. One of ways you can do that by using the burn tool with different exposure on the shadow and midtone.

I've reworked it. Cropped in closer as Denise suggested and worked on retrieving some of the detail. Better? Too much? Still seems a bit soft, but maybe that's just the original. This is an interesting learning curve for me. thanks for input.

Great work on the repost, Hazel. I think there's just enough detail now, while still retaining a soft, muted look.

NIce work. Love it in fact. Other than the OP being a little centered. Repost is much better. :)
