Default 1.4x Extender Compatibility with 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS???

Is the Canon 1.4x II extender compatible with the Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS lens?

    Thanks in advance,

    Caleb

I cannot specifically speak for that lens, but when people ask the similiar question about the Nikon 70-300VR I always tell them, do not use any extender on the lens. These kind of lens do not take well to teleconvertors, at all!! Very poor quality would result, plus the AF would be slow as molasses, if it even did work. Time to save the pennies and move up to possible the Canon 400 5.6, I have heard that is a fine lens.

    Cheers

Hi Caleb, I dont think an Extender is compatible with a 70-300, have a look at...

A good friend uses a Kenko extender on that lens because the Canon will not work.
