Default India Wildlife: Gaur head on....

Taken in Kanha National Park, India. The Gaur was walking directly towards us. Soft morning light.

Taken from an SUV with the lens on a beanbag. 1DIII, 300/2.8 IS, rest of the details on the photo.

    C & C is welcome..

Very nice image Vivek. May be little more space on the bottom for virtual legs?

Impressive animal. I would like to see more space at the bottom as mentioned, and I might try a bit of S/H to bring out more detail in the guar's lower half. I like the BG.

I agree with the previous comments regarding space at the bottom and opening up of the shadows. It would have been good if the tail would not have appeared behind the horns. Huge fellow. Thanks for sharing.

This is lovely Vivek. As mentioned, some s/h for teh dark and some extra space would be nice, but do like the head on approach. Powerful! WD!"

Impressive animal. I like the symmetry of the horns and how they frame the body. Also like the head on look and inclusion of the grasses. Maybe a tiny touch of color noise removal in the shadowed areas needed?

vivek..big congrats on this one. I am used to seeing this pose in photos of the american bison....but never saw it with its indian counterpart. Sometimes I wonder if they had as much fur as the american bison's how big and intimidating they'd look.

Along with the above suggestions, I suggest a little more sharpening. I dont know why the horns look a little soft...esp. since the hump and mouth both look sharp. Was the head shaking slightly while walking?

Thanks folks for all the critique... I agree with a little color NR on the body as well as a tad more sharpening...Will repost if possible.

    Thanks again
