This was taken on a recent trip to Alaska. Along the Katmai Penn. there were many opportunities to photograph the Kodiak Coastal Brown Bear which is the largest bear in the world. It was such an exciting time to be able to experience the interaction between mother and cub. These bears are grizzlies but of a larger species than the inland bears which feed on grasses etc. while the coastal have the opportunity to feed on fish. These images have had very little cropping. In fact sometimes the bears where just too close for a 600 mm. Had I known how close I might have thought twice about going !!!! I am only kidding but it definitely was an experience of a lifetime.
Adorable image Judy. I like that the second cub is just peeking out from being the one "attacking" mom. Visiting the bears in Katmai is definitely a wonderful experience. You can just feel the power of these guys as they walk by you. Something everyone should experience at least once!
Judy, I love the interaction you were able to capture and share with all of us! Beautiful details and a really nice cute pose by the one cub.It was nice of you to give the information with your post.TFS.

Wow what a great interaction image. The cubs are adorable. What a great trip you must have had. A bit different from Florida! Your exposure and detail are excellant.
Beautiful image of my favorite subjects. I like the cub hanging on mom's muzzle. It's always amazing to me how gentle they are with spring cubs. Lovely job, Judy!
