They are also known as Pharaoh's Chicken. Scientific name: Neophron percnopterus

this is beautiful shot sabby. i like the framing of the bird and perch is also good. looks like overcast day.
btw the bg vertical band and the left side orange stick coming up and crossing breast of vulture is little distracting and you could have avoid by cloning that.

    hope you like the re-post

Mital's repost cleanup is very good, although I did like the rain drops very much.
I would crop a bit from the top, to the middle of the white part.

Hi Sabya, I think vultures are scavengers where ever they may be. Great look back pose, and how is the end of that beak - could rip open any carcass. Mital cleaned up nicely, and agree on a little off the top. Great sighting, and well captured.

Love the pose Bhai, the repost sure removes the distractions.. I would have loved some space off the top and a bit more below for the virtual tail and more.. still a nice one.. well done.

    Dear All,
    Thanks for your comments.

    Mital,
Thanks for your repost. It definitely looks better without the out of focus vegetation at the back. Ofcourse, the rain drops have vanished. Cloning is against my personal ethics so I have to work that much harder in the field:(

I am posting a horizontal image of the same bird in another thread and the out of focus vegetation behind it is not there.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
