This little one started hanging around this morning. I looked it up since I had not seen one before and was surprised to find out their range was mostly South America and the SW US. I'm located north of Chicago. More of a documentary photo than a work of art. Not much larger than a sparrow with a beautiful rufous color on the wings in flight.
Thanks John. This is the only place I've posted my find, but I'm forwarding to the owner of the "Wild Bird's Unlimited" store where I buy supplies. I think he is more networked than I am.
We used to have a lot of these here in Houston but about 10 years ago the white wing doves started to show up. Now the little inca doves are pretty scarce and the white wings are thick. Not sure if there is a connection but I assume there is.
