Sure was fun Richard and you came up with a good one !!! I like how you were able to move around and get a decent bg for the bugs ... getting low was the key !!!

Subject angle and dialing the perfect focal length makes this one sing. Spot-on exposure (the 2.8 is a great lens) you captured a great moment in the life of nature.

Richard, what was the time and do you mostly use WB/auto?

Jeff, this image was taken at around 9 am. Unless I'm shooting an image for HDR or a panorama, something that needs all the settings to be the same, I shoot auto WB and RAW. Most of the time this works for me with maybe a slight adjustment in ACR. I also shoot sunsets/sunrises in cloudy WB so I can see the color better on my LCD. Glad you enjoyed the image.....

    Richard,

I do basically the same. Early morning I often use cloudy to highlight morning colors and auto when light gets higher in the sky. Thanks, I do enjoy your work.

Richard....Lovely bf image! The bg does work well! You might consider taking just a tad off the bottom!
