Went for a long walk and came across some Queen Anne's Lace-but I never noticed it in this stage so I photographed it.

I must say that the bud looks like it is ready to explode upon the world. Neat!

It is very sharp ergo excellent detail. At f/16 the background begins to go south. I like the upper parts of the background but the lower part could be blurred a bit more for my eye. Overall, nicely done.

    Hey Denise,
Not too bad for f16 and considering the HH at 1/50....even better. I'd push the 5D to ISO 400 at least for more SS.....or my fav......more DOF.....but then the BG may have been more of an issue. Very nice comp and agree with ED that the lower 1/2 of the BG could go softer......would only strenghten a very nice comp.

I agree - might try a surface blur on the BG to see if that loosens the bottom half up a bit more. Another option would be to do a white vignette - really soft - around the edges to pull the attention away from the BG and onto the flower more.

Neat comp, Denise. These are not the easiest flowers to photograph and you did a very nice job.

Denise, I find the image a bit flat. Of course it could be the result of your artistic decision. I took the liberty to edit it to show what I think it could look like (I hope it turns out ok). Just a different look and nothing more.

Hi Desmond, Thankyou for taking the time to repost.I'm thinking it's a bit too dark-maybe somewhere in between our two posts.:)
