My wife Louise and I moved up to the Tampa/St Pete area yesterday on our trip to Florida. Today we we got to try what so many have been talking about, a trip on James Shadles boat to see the Spoonies and more...and I do mean more! :)
The image above is one I have been wanting since the first time I saw a Reddish Egret, a nice flight shot. There were at least 9 of them on the spot James bought us to. If you get the chance don't miss getting to do this! Will post a spoon bill tomorrow unless I just keep them all to myself! *lol*
Thanks James, that rocked!

George,
I'm glad you were able to capture some images you envisioned.
I like the placement in the frame and the action. The image is well exposed and very sharp.
In a perfect world I would prefer the intersetion of the water and mangroves not be in line with the birds head.
I am impressed with the OOF area. The water/mangrove issue is not a big deal becouse the background is blurred nicely.
Love the wing position, EXP, and framing, do not like the mangrove line through the head...
Later and love, artie

Great flight pose and wonderful sharpness, I agree with Artie on the BG going through the head. You could add a little bit of the blue BG around the bird, so that it is not longer touched by the dark area...
