    Default Great Egret Snacking

Finally worked up the courage to make a first post, a little daunting with all the stellar work posted here :) I've coming up on my first year of shooting birds and photography in general. It's been amazing experience that's opened my eyes up to the world again, I most thankful for that part. This was shot at the local marsh in Barrie.

Welcome to BPN, Nathan! I'm glad you posted this image, it is a very nice first post. I like the angle, eye contact and the fish adds to it. Exposure looks good, too, and I might crop a tad off the right. You can post larger images, which makes it easier to comment (max. 800 vertical and 1024 horizontal). Keep them coming!

Welcome to BPN Nathan - now that you've broken the ice the next post should be easier :-)

Pretty cool image, great timing on your part. Good job on the whites. Looks like you had a very cooperative subject seeing that this is taken at 250mm. I too wish to see it bigger though.

Hi Nathan, I can relate to you, it wasn't so long ago I started photographing birds. Capturing this bird in mid catch is a good feeling and you did a very nice job capturing it. Congratulations.

I'm figuring this guy was a juvenile as was able to get within 10 feet without the bird even flinching. I forgot that I had a default export of 800 px, I will bump it up on the next post.
