Hi Keith. My call is imm. Orange-crowned Warbler. It's definately not a vireo, as the bill is warbler all the way!! The appearance of an eye line and eye ring, the yellowish undertail coverts and the slight contrast between the breast and throat all add up the Orange-crown IMO!
A beautiful image Keith! Although it is superficially like a vireo, note the very thin, un-hooked bill, which suggests a warbler. I am no expert on sw. warblers but this does look like a Virginia's (based on Sibley), and as Gary points out, it was in the right habitat, and the distribution is right for this time if year. I would also go along with Orange-crowned and I agree with Dan that the eye-line suggests this species.
