    Default Merlin

I caught up to this this Merlin just as it had finished eating a dragon fly.

    Hi Edward,

I like the EXP and perch. I see the dragonfly's wing, nice touch. Head angle is good. However the angle of the lens to the bird is very low, and there's noise in the bird's details. Was this a heavy crop?

    Thanks Erich.
The angle of the camera is low because the bird was perched about 60 feet above me and out over the water, and approx. 75 feet away, so a crop was required.

Light and sharpness look good, being able to see the dragonfly's wing adds to it. A lower angle would have made it even stronger but I don't think there was much you could have done about it.

    Thanks Axel !
The trees along the marsh it perfers to perch in range in height up to 75 feet, so we have to take what the birds offer us, so getting a lower angle is impossible unless the Merlin decides to treat us.
