    I took this shot at Blue Heron Waste Water Reclamation Facility on my last trip to Florida.

    Nikon D300, 500F4VR+1.4x tc, handheld

    Hi Colin,
    A very nice shot. I like the HA the pose, the intense stare and eye a lot. I would clone some of the lightgreen BG over the darkgreen BG, add some canvas on top and to the left. Well done!

    this is a terrific clear shot. some suggestions.

    would have clone out the left top dark green crose patch to balance image ..
    would have blure the bg selectively a bit more.
    dont know which angle you took this but seems your lens is above the bird.
    wish you could get grounded yourself to have a nice dark green bg you have here and more distance to get nice DOF.

    Beautiful shot this, loved the pose and light... most of the issues cover by mital.. still a lovely image, congrats..

    thanks for the comments, unfortunately i could not change my location or angle and i never had time to back up as the bird took off a couple of seconds after i took this shot.

    the kill looked like some kind of frog.

    I am a big fan of raptor images. Liked the 'looking behind' pose here a lot. The natural catchlight draws the viewer to the eye.

    Colin,

    I don't mind the angle; I think it works. Glad you could get a few shots in before the hawk too off. I love these guys in strong light. Great work!
