Wow! Pretty much perfect in my opinion. The over all composition is pleasing to me. The pose and interaction of bird and flower is very nice. The exposure an sharpness look spot on to me. The colors are also nice. Add the background and this is one very stunning image. Thanks so much for sharing.

Fabulous work Glenn! I really like the backgrounds you use with your hummer shots so very nice.

    Glenn
    Another outstanding image
The exposure, flash settings and focus/sharpness are all spot-on
The BG is a bit dark for me, but reflects what's often seen in Ecuador

Only concern is the OOF upper red leaf in LL corner. APpreciate it adds to compositional balance, so reluctant to mask/clone it out. But a higher f-stop (f20-22) and repositioning of flashes might have helped or rotating the twig at set up could perhaps have brought it into better focus.

Still very nicely done and definitely a keeper - thanks for sharing

    re. the OOF parts:

I actually really dont like the hummingbird shots where everything is tack sharp. They always look super FAKE to me... But to each his/her own...

Hi Glenn: My first thought when I first looked at this picture was that the leaf in the upper RH corner had to go. Upon closer examination, I really like the composition as is b/c it is well balanced. Love the various colors and textures and the bird is tack sharp. Thank you for sharing this gem! Marina

Greatly enjoyed this, the colours in the frame makes this along with a great BG... TFS.. big congrats too..

Just the leaf on the top right corner is a bit distracting...

Glenn, this looks great to my eye. I like the dark background and the flash is quite pleasing. And you set up really well for the resulting composition. I think the flower is in the genus Columnea, Gesneriaceae family, and it works very well for this picture.

Nicely composed, good colors and detail. I would have probably removed the leaf in the upper right, but that is a personal thing. Anyone who thinks everything should be in focus has never tried photographing hummingbirds, even at f/32 I am unable to keep everything tack sharp. Well done.
