another from the fruit and spice park last friday. hindsight is 20/20! would have loved to have more dof on this one. the bg was really tacky and i was trying to smooth it out as much as possible, but now i wished i had more depth and worked on the bg in PP. something different here. i like trying different things to see if they stick. so be brutal and let me have.

    D300, Sigma 150, f/2.8, 1/640s, 0Ev, ISO 1600

thanks for looking. comments and critiques much appreciated.

    Very good Doctor,
I like the colors and textures, and the framing...the dark green background makes your lady pop...:D:cool:

Hi Harold, Good color and the waterdrops add a nice touch. I feel the OOF foreground is overly dominant and disrupts ones view of the center. As a tip..When I shoot an image that I question the DOF I take multiple images at different stops and see which one I like. Obviously if I'm shooting macro and want maximum depth I'll shoot at F32 and thats it.You shot this at F2.8..plenty of room to play!

Harold I like your colours and BG, you did a nice job on the greens. I might have reversed the DOF to have the FG more in focus than the BG. Just my opinion though. I like the different ideas you are trying in macro. And I like the swimming pool as a focal point.

Intresting Mr H - More DOF IMHO - I would have tried to get the swimming pool nice and sharp and let the rest fall were it may - and see what that looked like.
Its mucho fun experimenting - keep it up - Love seeing the ;)

Hi Harold, There's no need to be brutal here, especially when you're experimenting. I would have liked to work this subject too. I like Dave's suggestion to shoot the scene several ways. I agree that more DOF might have helped. Were you using a tripod in the park? If you were, stopping down would have been even more of an option. Keep stretching your visual muscles - I want to see more!!

Love the colors and drops, Harold. Agree with all the great advice already given. Very nice idea, just needs a little refinement :)

HI Harold...Love the idea but the oof foreground is just too distracting. Experimenting is how we all learn. Looking forward to more!
