    Default Swift Tern

Another image from my weekend at the coast two weeks ago. This is the swift tern, the only tern that has a full yellow beak - at least in South Africa. His far wing looks a bit tatty.

    Hi Stuart,

Very well caught, good catchlight. I like the diffused but non uniform background giving a sense of place. For me it is a little high in the frame and I am seeing some shade variation in teh blue background around the edge of the far damaged wing.

    Thanks for sharing

Nice sharp flight image. A little more head turn towards you would have been nice. I would prefer a little less room on the left.

    I too see this.

Well exposed image with good detail, catchlight & colours. Head angled a few degrees more towards the camera would have been nice. Still well done!

Heck its a good flight shot with a pretty bg and the birds sharp.... You handled the exposure nicely.

Well executed image. If it were mine, I'd consider cloning (or cropping) out the whitish blobs along the bottom border but this is a small nit.

I like the wing position, eye contact and the inclusion of the water. Adding to the other comments, I would tone down the highlights more.

all has been said. I like the exposure and pose and would put it a little lower in the frame...
