I added a gradient BG and texture ,accented edges, equalize and blending modes. I thought it resembled a slight foiled look.

Here is a link to the orig. I posted in Macro

    Hey Denise,
Like the overall look to this one. do you think going lighter/brighter with the central yellowish part will make it stand out too much? It will make a strong focal point....but not sure that wil help actually as it may overposer the image.....just something for you to try out! Very nice use of the effect! Now I'll give you a shot at one of mine!

Hey Roman, My first attempt was w/ a darker center- The color fell flat IMO. I do feel the center needs some more outline, definition or highlight. I will try to work on it later. I need to go thru my Landscape files now:confused::eek:

I love how the filter affected the flower, very painterly. And the texture makes it stand out very well, Miss Denise :)

Very nice grad and also love the texture. It reminds me of braille code. So neat. The flower is wonderfully framed and I agree about making the center a little more prominent? Maybe you could reveal some of the real flower from below and lighten perhaps. Just thinking while admiring your work. :)

Nice work Denise! I like the contrast in textures! The dark area in the upper left is a nice balance with the lower right leaf.
