Love the pose and comp Gerrie, but head looks a tad soft on my screen?

I like the diving pose and colours in the BG Gerrie. I agree with Dave with the head being a bit soft. With that ss, you should have nailed the sharpness.

Great job getting the bird in a good position. Is it possible to capture these birds flying without some image blur, I wonder?

I like the eye contact, light and BG. I agree regarding motion blur, maybe some more selective sharpening could fix this.

Good choice of comp, and nice BG. The tail is quite sharp...I'm thinking you were panning downwards when the KF swooped its head sideways, thus causing the motion blur on it with the tail remaining sharp. There is fair amount of noise under the far wing and on the belly - did you need to lighten the shadows there?

Love the action and the BG, but wish the head was a bit sharper.

Thank you for viewing & commenting everyone. It is much appreciated.

Connie, it is possible th photograph them without wing blur. It all depends on the wing position. If they are up or down one seldom gets wing blur. If the wing is like in this pic, it is difficult to freeze and a ss of 4,000+ is required.

Daniel, all I did was to up the levels a tad to bring out detail in the blacks.

great pose and exposure Gerrie! I agree on making the head sharper - wing blur doesn't bother me...
