I would very much appreciate feedback on whether you consider this image successful or not. I've had some difficulty making up my mind about it. If it doesn't fly, I'd really like to know.;) I can hear the groans now...

It is a very nice photo except for the one on the left side that is about half way down and the twelfth one in.....his/her HA is off a little.....:D Seriously I do like it.

What a awesome sight Ron - I like it - the patch of blue sky adds a little contrast.
    Good show :)

Hi Ron, wow what an impressive sight. Although I think it is a very good image, my personal taste would be to have fewer but more recognizable (bigger) birds in the frame. My eyes go all over but do not rest anywhere because I am overpowered by the shear number :) having said that I wish I had taken it :)

Wow what a flock Ron. Like the strip of water and sky. Bosque must be an amazing sight with all those birds.

Mighty fine and impressive Ron !!!

Not sure if you have the previous but normally you will have your best in the first second or two Would like more room at the bottom (clean) but man that is one sweet blastoff !!!

Might want to try in the future to use more focal length to isolate part of the wall of birds, high ISO to shoot at smallest opening for dof. Noise won't be a problem since the image will be mostly white !!! With my 600 and 2X converter I shoot at f 64 ISO wise will be close to 5000 usually !!!

Hi Alfred, is this what you mean about using more focal length to get a wall of birds?? This is from an earlier image; 5 seconds earlier, nearly full frame.

The OP is better for me too, but the second is original and unique.

Ron, what did you do differently. You were at 200MM first shot, max focal length?

Hi Ron...Like the first image best. Going from a wall to seperation between birds seems to be the way to go. I too would have liked to see just a tad more of the bottom but Hey...its still one great image!

Jeff, they were flying directly away from me. Every shot I took was at 200mm.
Thanks to all who took the time to comment on this image. I appreciate the feedback!!

Personally, I love this just as is. It has the feeling of a Jackson Pollock painting.
