    Default Bushtit

Just filled up the fountain and the two bird baths and was inundated with bushtits. Went into the house and grabbed the camera and came up with this shot. My dog Willie spoils a lot of my own garden opportunities as he barges around looking for the squirrel or rabbit he thinks I'm searching for.:) So I have to be quick.
I lightened the eye but did I lighten it too much?

Hi Roy - Mixed lighting is always going to be tough. Some fill flash might have helped here.
On my screen Mr Bird looks like he has a yellow colour cast - reflected light from leafs below quite possibly also looks a little under exposed on my screen - the bird that is - all the bright area's inthe BG have caused the camera to go - WOW bright scene need to make it darker - some + Compenation would have been called for to get the bird exposed properly. Details look OK
    Keep em coming

    Hi Roy

Agree with Lance and suggestions Flash will go a longs ways here If you can't use it then the plus compensation is the only way ... btw when you do the bg might be overcooked but not much you can do about it !!!

Thanks Lance and Alf, that is what I was hoping for some good instruction and suggestions I can use in the future.

    Hi Roy,
I like the composition and capture, the bird is framed quite well between the leaves...I agree with Mr. Peters on the techs. and good advise...might also want to open up the shadows around the eye...looking forward to your next one...

I really like the image with the bird "hiding" under the leaf even though it is a bit busy in other areas. Might crop some from the left side The tech about exposure as stated above. These are tough little guys to get they never sit still.

The bird's location in the plant is very appealing. As far as the eye and cheek, if you have Lightroom, you might try using the fill-light control to open up the darker areas.

Hi Roy....Nice framing and bg but the bird itself needs to be lightened
