    Default White-Necked Jacobin

Here's another hummer from this year's Costa Rica photo tour. Rancho Naturalista. Enough said.

Beautiful colors, BG, flower, pose, DOF...pretty much everything. You are making me jealous again. Congratulations.

Good one Doug, red and green complimentary colour work well.

Hey, Doug. Looks quite nice. I like the texture in the bird's feathers and the overall lighting looks good. I think there could be just a bit more room, especially left and top left. Instead of the zoom at 161 mm, I would have considered 149 mm.

    Cheers,

This is really a special shot - just makes me realise how special it is to observe the beauty of nature.

An unusual hovering posture Doug, and I like how the edge of the wing is parallel to the tail. Lovely colours on the HB, and overall, I like the comp too. Well captured.

Excellent shot Doug. Like the flower a lot, as well as the BG, the pose and colours of the bird. I wish the HA was a tiny bit more towards you or that the bird would have angled a bit more towards the viewer although on the other hand the eye contact compensates for this a bit. All in all another great hummer shot!

Great timing! The extended pose of the bird is remarkable, gives a very nice balance to the composition.

149 would have worked OK, but I personally think that 143 would have been even better:)

Wow, fantastic, pose especially not seen too often, altogether with the flower. I like it very much.

Doug, one day when I am big I may be able to capture an image like this.
Colours, comp, detail, sharpness, BG, pose, action all great.
