Glenn, that's a real beauty! What a species. :) I like the colors and textures of the calm water in the background, as well as your composition. It really looks great!

Lovely light, exposure control, and sweet blue BG. Is there a certain area near Vancouver Island were you go kayaking?

This is a superb portrait IMHO. My question is about the dark LRC though, is that in the shade? I like the HA (perfect) the light and it is razor sharp. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful image Glenn. I love the lighting and the crisp details. The water must have been calm, and you must have been rock steady, for you to get this type of image while handholding the 500mm while in a Kayak.

    Absolutely beautiful Glenn,
A very good candidate for a close up like this, given the interesting face this species has. Nicely composed, and beutifully exposed.
BTW - I have spent a great deal of time on your site going through the galleries. I am amazed by the number of phenomenal shots in your collection.

An AMAZING shot Glenn!! I've seen this species many times and never gotten closer than 30 yards with the bird swimming away, so I really appreciate this one!! Love it!!
