I was going to post some more flower pictures from my recent trip to Longwood Gardens where I was with Dave Mills, Denise Ippolito, and Mike (BPN member....no last name...sorry Mike!)......but I happend to have this spider across my deck.....so since Denise has a new love of f29....decided to show her why I love f32!
Pretty windy....so hand holding & focusing was definitely fun!
Canon 1D Mark lll with the Sigma 180mm macro and the MT 24 twin lights at 0 and ISO 800 at f32 and 1/200 sec. Recognize the BG????.....print of sky approx 12 inches behind web.

    Sweet Roman

I like how you got the legs to be within the dof range !!! Excellent sharpness and love the bg !!

btw I have been using lots of ISO 1600 to keep the shutter speed a little higher ... safety margin !!!

Roman, Nice printed sky!! I love the details you got in the spider! The webbing and slight diagonal pose look great! I can't believe the detail you got!! Very well done.

Beautiful details in this and love the close crop. Can we all stop with the spider photos for today? You all are creeping me out!

Only an old film guy would know about using artificial BG's for Marco subjects :D wonderful detail on the spider.
