    Default Least Terns

    Canon 5D MII, 500mm f/4 and 1.4x TC
    1/1600, f/8, ISO 400
    Fort DeSoto Park, Florida

I stuck with these terns for quite a while because I suspected that something was going to happen. When the male flew away, the female became agitated and I figured that she would also fly away. When she stayed on the ground, I stayed with her. In a matter of minutes the male returned with a fish and they put on quite a courtship display. They would shake their heads back and forth, back and forth...for more than 3 minutes before she finally grabbed it (another image for later).

How cute! love the low angle and full wing. Eyes and whites handled very nicely, would have been off chart if the juvenile was grabbing the fish! Excellent work!

Great angle, interaction, sharpness and light. I would only tone down the highlights more.

I think you got great interaction here Judd. I would also ease up the highlights a little. But only just. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely light, interaction, and exposure. I might tone the whites on the neck just a tad. The comp feels a bit awkward to me with the placement of the birds, but you didn't have much of a choice with the wing flap.

Looking forward t the next one!

Gorgeous shot that makes me very envious! Would love a chance to photograph these beauties! The interaction is Killer, gorgeous angle, good poses and the fish is the icing on the cake! I would leave the highlights alone! But I would enhance the catchlight of the left bird, print it very big and give it a nice place on the wall! Very well done man!
