    I'm not sure if I should go ahead and blur the background. Juvenile bird. Almost full grown , but not quite.

    Hi William, BG dont bother me, I would leave it as is. love the detail and the comp.

    I don't think the background needs more blurring, but I would be tempted to clone the darker, kind of large area in the water, between the head of the heron and the log in the photo.

    I like the preening pose, eye contact and sharpness. The BG looks blurred enough for my taste and it looks as if there was not much you could have done to get a more uniform BG. The bird is a bit tight in the frame.

    Bill, Really nice preening pose and the details look great!! BG seems fine to me. Agree it's a bit tight.

    A bit tight for me too Bill, and I miss your topaz bud. :D It is a wonderful pose and super sharp. I think the BG is fine. I am personally not a real blurrer in PS if I can help it. :) Thanks for sharing mate.
