It was a shame that this morning the sun didn't came out and I had to photograph this beauty without a bleu BG.

    Olympus E3, Zuiko ED300 F2.8, Zuiko 2.0 converter, 600mm focuslength, F6.3, ISO400, 1/320sec, +1 stop.

Nice and sharp and a good head angle. As it is, the gray bg suits and compliments the bird.

Sweet pose, exposure, and perch. The overcast light works well here. I might put the bird a little higher in the frame.

    Well Done!

works anyway. What you lose in bkgd (clutter is worse), is made up by making us concentrate on the bird. Everything else is just fine. Nice capture. Great eye contact, pose and perch.

Excellent job with the exposure. Nice eye contact. I'd like the bird a little higher in the frame.

Quite a striking bird, the BG works even if it was overcast.
I don't mind the position as is.

I don't mind the BG either, I think it helps. Wonderful details, and I really like the way it is perched on the stick.

    Thanks for sharing this species.

I love the details on the bird. Never mind the BG. Good work. :)

What a striking warbler Alexander and the overcast sky complements its colours.

    cheers
