Welcome to BPN Luis...looks like we have another bird photographer to add to the already strong South African contingent! Nice looking kingfisher - looks like you were close it! I like the quite relaxed pose it offered you here. I would have been OK with all the space if either the perch had been all across the frame or if the bill had pointed directly at left, but as is I feel a significant crop at left would strenghten the comp. I know it is not always possible, but try to keep the sun directly behind you (notice the strong shadow at left of the bird caused by the sun being a bit to your right.)

Overall a strong effort, here's hoping to see more from you! :-)

Welcome to BPN! Daniel made some good points here, and if you had moved to your right (if it was possible) the light angle would have been a bit better.

    Looking forward to more!

Welcome to BPN Luis, and a great subject to enter with. Dan has covered everything, but I may add that there is a strong magents cast in this.

    welcome Luis! :)

light noted, but otherwise a high-detail portrait, I love that the eye is also detailed. I also noted the magenta cast - easily corrected.

    keep them coming!

Unfortunately I cannot access your photobucket link from work, but judging from that thumbnail, the KF is a bit too close to the right side of the image. I'll have a better look later from home.
