Made this image yesterday morning.. Me n my buddy were out looking for some raptors early morning and when we reached this place, it was a bit cloudy and it started raining as well.. we waited(for more than an hour) and then were rewarded with the sighting of this beauty.. although it was flying away from us initially, it got used to us after an hour or so.. then we spent close to a good 2.5 hours with the bird.. it didnt even bother flying away .. :) .. we were lucky to make some nice images.. will post some more later... C & C welcome.

You r patience paid off, and the overcast light helped you with the nice colours of this individual. Good pose, with a perfect head turn towards you. I do find the sharpening a little strong (as evidenced by the halos around a good part of the subject). I would also hold off the sharpening on the perch altogether.

Hi Aditya, super pose, and the softer lighter shows the colours up nicely. Overall, good detail, and your repost is much better. However I feel you tapped off too much with the sharpening on the head. I would maybe selectively sharpen the head a tad more.

Lovely pose and eye contact Aditya. Feel the ideal lies somewhere between the two images. (just checking, but when you sharpen, do you do a selection and then contract by 1px... does help in reducing halo's). TFS Did a selection on bg, inversed, contracted and then 3 rounds of 50%, 0.3 & 4, (blend mode on luminosity), flattened then 10% 20 & 4.

Aditya, I really like your image - twinkle in the eye, nice posture, good colours and a very nice background.

    Hi David,
Thanks a lot for taking time out to work on the image.. the repost is nicely sharpened. I've never tried the contraction before..how does it help reduce halos? guess I need to read up on that..thanks again for the help.. !! really appreciate it :-)
