I have reposted this image based on the soft critique of my original post. The original can be found on page 19. Firstly I cropped the image slightly. I then removed, with the clone stamp, to small branches. Next I cloned out some distracting elements in the BG. I then applied a GB to the BG. I then selected the wing and back of the bird and applied a little contrast. Next I selected the eye and lightened a tad. I also selected the orange and desaturated it a little. I am fairly new to computers and Photoshop but was able to make these adjustments using Arties "Digital Basics" guide. I am here to learn so please comment.

Very much improved! The bit of branch cloned out below the bird's tail is somewhat noticable, but you still did a very nice job using the previous suggestions to improve this image.
Just checked out the original, nice job with your adjustments. Although the branch below the tail is still noticeable I think the darker area compliments the image.
