    Default Woodstork in B&W

Shot in Gopher Creek, the Everglades. It was an overcast day, lighting not good. Converted to B&W in PP. I selectively lightened the head as well.
    Sony a100, 18-70mm sony lens. 30mm, ISO200, 1/200, f11 (I should have used ISO400, but with the a100 the noise is a bit much)

Correction: I used the Sigma f2.8 70-210mm lens and shot at 210mm. Don't know what I was thinking when I posted the specs on this!

I like the pose, composition and eye contact and only find the angle a bit steep.

Connie, I really like the pose and the perch. The composition is lovely. I wish the underside of the wing was opened up a bit more. There are some artifacts on the right side of image I would clean-up. The conversion looks good and I like the HA. Well done.

Hi Connie, I like the compostion and bird position. The exposure looks good but to my eye the image is a bit flat.

Thank you all for the comments and feedback. Denise, I especially appreciate you pointing out the artifacts! As careful as I think I am, sometimes I miss the finer details and am glad others have the eye to catch them. :o Thanks again!

Really nice image, Connie. I think it could use a little less room on the left side of the frame and a bit more on right - it feels a little bit off for the ROT's.

I'd also consider taking up the contrast on the bird just a bit more. You've got a nice array of grays in the tree stump so I'd slam the all black/all white bird and really take it up another notch.

I like the V shaped perch Connie, and super pose from the stork. Great conversion.
