    This Immature Bald Eagle in the wild on one of its first journeys after leaving the nest. Earlier this year.
    Canon 5D MKII, 500mm f/4L, +1.4 ext Gitzo 3530LS, Wimbley II
    1/1250, f/8.0, ISO 320, 7:23am

    Love the comp and the vertical format here. Just seems a bit soft to me. I think a touch too dark as well. Was this a big crop?

    Hi Bill,

    The pose is terrific w/the outstretch wings, and I like the head angle. I suggest sharpening the eye. Also, seems to be too much contrast in the bird's detail. Good work and thanks for sharing this one.

    Great wing position. I'd push this about 1/3 of a stop to the right. Agree about reducing contrast a bit. I'd also give it another round of sharpening. For flight photography with a body that has such low noise, I'd push the ISO up to 800 and go for some extra shutter speed.

    Don't be afraid of ISO800, as Doug suggested. That body is fabulous at that setting. Nice image, but agree with above comments. I would always try the fastest possible SS to freeze motion. Thanks for sharing. :)

    Love the pose and spread wings. A little more detail on blacks would make this one even better.
