I like the angle, sharpness, eye contact and BG and wish there were head/wing separation. If it were mine I would remove the sheen on the bill.

Agree with Axel on all counts Regarding bill separation you lucked out here having the entire head with wing behind that makes it better !!!!

Like the eye contact, but do wish there were separation between wing and head. Excellent job with the exposure. Perhaps a bit more canvas in front of the bird.

Axel heard my thoughts about the bill sheen. I like the crop and don't mind the wing/head relation as colors are contrasty enough. In a perfect world, yes, I would agree with Doug. :)

Aside from what was mentioned(all good points) I might lighten it up just a small bit. Just my taste. Still a fine capture.

Super flying posture with the wings on the full downstroke. Sharp, and I like the detail captured, together with the OOF BG. I would try and lighten the gull slightly.

Thank you for the feedback. I hear you about the head/wing separation but figured that it might work given that the head is entirely in front of the wing. Thanks, JR
