    Default Kestrel

American Kestrel, it is flying away but there is a head turn, what do you think?

I think great lighting! To me, that helps make up for not having the bird staring directly into the camera lens.
I'm surprised you were able to get such a sharp pic a 1/200.
Which lens were you using? How much zoom? How much cropping?

Good capture wings are up and the slight head turn Excellent light and bg !!!

Assume the crop is heavy form the presented dof? but the web presentation does not suffer !!! btw could select the eye area and give it another sharpening pass !!!

Hi Al, you have very good eyes:) . This shot was accidentally taken in sRAW mode instead of RAW!!! so the original "small" RAW is very tight, this is actually up-sampled! Would have had much more detail if it was full size RAW.

    Hi Arash,
I like the capture with the raised wings and the fine details...love the baby blue sky, which showcases your subject very well...
