    Hi Ray,
I too wish for better HA. Bird detail and colors are pretty good. BG works I think it will be a bit better toned down, also looks like there is a very subtle halo around the bird from some masking or something.

    Good work

I like the colors and feather detail. Maybe clone out the black area and the light colored line in front of the bird.
    HA as you have mentioned.

Hi Ray - The jay is super: good exposure, sharp - like the feather detail, the erect crest gives some dynamic to the pose. Personally I'd wish for a more natural perch.

Colours look great with great details. Would only which for a more natural perch as well. Just a bit more of a head turn would have been nice too:)

    Hi Ray

Lots of good thing going on here and like the image myself Agree on comments which all will improve. One interesting point is the perch and you did shoot form low but not flat on the ground ... would have made the perch just perfect !!!!

I like the image but would clean up BG. Colors and feather detail are great. The stuff on the ground is a tad distracting. As Al said, lower angle could have helped, might try clone/QM if you are alright with adjustments of this nature.

The exposure is spot-one and I love the composition.

Thanks for the advice and encouragment. with regards to the halo around the bird you are correct. The BG was much brighter and I darkened it but it was difficult to darken it right next to the bird w/o making it look abnormal. I did lighten the area around the eye and was concerned about doing too much. I have to remember to get lower. Thanks for looking.
