    Default Assignment: Macro

    Attached Images Attached Images

A little early for macro, but thought I'd try a post.
    40D
    500mm
f4 (not sure why it comes out f4 but that is what the metadata says)
TC/25mm ext. tube/Lens (Order of stacking)
    1.4 TC
    25 mm extension tube
    Cropped for comp.
    1/320 s
    ISO 400
    Tripod
    Natural light
    Put through I Colour Correct
    -1/3 AV Mode Evaluative
I know that I probably should have bumped up the ISO but it looked fairly sharp to me. If the sun ever comes out, I can get higher shutter speed, no flash to go with this combo at the moment.
Taken on a very overcast day (raining at this point)
Unusual combo of converters etc., will be getting another 2x soon, so might take off the 1.4, but the working distance is great.
    Comments/Suggestions Appreciated.

    Hi Lady Jackie,
I like the concept, the color rendition is spot on with good details...a point to consider...here you have two subjects competing for the lime light...:D I would recommend taking the yellow bud to the left out of the picture and just leaving your main subject, this way you can crop even a little tighter, to showcase your beauty...the black background makes her stand out in all of her glory...good show...

I second doing something to the bud on the left. I was thinking perhaps changing its brightness, saturation, contrast and sharpness. Then perhaps it's too big and close to the flower that removing may be the only option.

I am totally impressed with the dof - very nice. I think the heavy overcast sky was a real asset here; it allows a depth to the orange of the lily that too often becomes garish in brighter light.
    Stunning.

Hi Jackie the actual f stop would have been f 11 from the converters then you had the extension tube Sweet !!! For those you can stop down for quality but dof is minimal Excellent and keep experimenting with this set up

... btw for dragonflies its my favorite lens one 1.4X and 25mm ext tube !!!

Very nice Jackie! Love the colors, they really pop against the black BG!

Jackie, beautiful color... I agree with the bud, but the sharpness and detail of the main flower is phenomenal. I love the water droplets on the petals.... Congrats!!!!
