Previously, I posted a similar image of this same bird from the same sequence, but this is a different image.
I captured this guy at my favorite local lagoon, usually a good spot for these Marsh Harrier-size raptors. It is full frame, but since it was close to the LLC, I added canvas on left and below. Selected the underside of wings to lighten a little. I wish the bill was clear of the wing, but luckily the colors are contrasting enough to not bother me that much.

    30D, 300mm f/4L IS USM, 1.4x, ISO400, f/5.6, 1/1000th, HH, +2/3 EC, manual mode

Thanks for looking and for constructive critique.

    Hi Akos,
Excellent image and eye contact, pupil is clearly visible. Detail is really good, composition is good too, congrats! I think bill is pretty good too.
A minor point, tone down the HL a tiny bit and pop the contrast, there is a little bit of posterization under the wings as a result of bringing up the shadows.

    Perfect shot. Thanks for Sharing

    Beautiful bird very well captured.
A little soft but the eye is sharp in bright light. The right leading wing edge's brightness is a little distracting/
    Overall very nice.

Nice one, Akos. While the bill and eye look pretty sharp, the brightness of the body seems to affect the detail somewhat. Maybe bringing the brightness down on the body a bit would help.

Super focus with a 1.4, I like the shot very much, not sure about the shade of the sky.

Pretty neat, and good call on the canvas expansion. I see your lightening efforts under the wings spilled out a bit onto the sky in a couple of places ;-) Seems like you had good light, but I agree on toning down the brighter parts on the body.

Super comp Bru, and I like the gliding posture. The light cast on the head and body brings out the colours nicely, and I really like that eye. Well captured mate.

Thanks guys for all the constructive comments. I appreciate them. These are my fave raptors I guess, after the Square-tailed Kites. :D
