    Default Arctic Tern calling

Here is one from last months visit to the Farne Islands, UK.

There were many breeding pairs on the island and lots with young. Some of the adult Terns were bringing fish back to feed their young, whilst others were protecting and calling their young.

I was tempted to crop this into a panoramic as the top third of this image is empty but decided to stick with convention. I'd be interested in your thoughts on the crop as well as any other comments about the image.

    C&C welcome.

    Thanks

I like the calling pose. I wish the wings were more fully down. The crop works for me, although I can see it as a pano also. You look underexposed by 1/3 to 2/3 of a stop on most of the bird; should be easy to recover in LR, ACR, or PS.

YEah, looks a little dark to me. I can also see some halo around the head. Nice calling pose though and thanks for sharing. :)

Crop is fine. Lovely shot. Not as sharp as I would like.

I like the flying posture, together with the open beak. Comp wise, I would maybe take a bit off the top.

Nice wing position, these guys are loud. I would try to recover shadows a bit more and run NR in the underwings
