Default India Wildlife: Gaur (Indian Bison)

Shot this summer in Kanha National Park. Early morning light; Major EXIF on the photo.

Very intimidating beast; this was the alpha male of the herd.

This looks like a powerful beast, I have not seen one in a long time. I think a little more room at the front would improve this a lot, to think Tigers attack these!

Bos gaurus - World's Largest Bovine .. Bigger than even the Cape Buffalo .. Friends ! This is a Hulk !!! And just imagine how Tigers tackle even these beasts :) What a Cat !!!

Vivek you have framed it beautifully .. these are very difficult to expose properly and you have done a lovely job on that too .. Good One !

This is neat, caught mid stride. Be nice to have more room to walk into as mentioned. Light is fabulous, and great specimen study.

The lighting on the animal is very nice, also you have caught a rear leg in mid stride suggesting movement.

I would have included more space in front of the animal and a little more on the other three sides. The hoofs could be improved with a little more sharpening.

    Thanks for sharing.

    You captured their size well.

This is indeed a hulk, Vivek, but they can get even bigger! I have seen some where the dewlap almost touches the ground! I agree with the others about the image being a little too "cramped", though.

Thanks Ken, Subhargya, Davidbhai, Michael, Steve, Ajit and Harshad. I will check the raw file to see if I have more room with a better crop.

Unfortunately, I have very little time to post process my photos these days :(

Thanks again for all comments / critique.
