    Default Theme: Feeding Frenzy

This is almost full frame. I shot this w/ the 500mm + 1.4 ex.
The Tern chicks are so aggressive when it comes to feeding. It truly is amazing to watch them.
I added a huge amount of poster edges only to the birds.(so I wouldn't get that noise look in the BG-as per Akos;)) I also wanted a sketch like look.

Hi Denise, Image tells a neat story and I like the effect. Good framing of the action...

Like the way the adult bird with fish is frozen in space, handing off to the other adult...guess they do this so adult bird (on ground) can control which chick eats...
Upraised foot on one chick..shows just whats going on...nice effect

Come on Denise, don't worry about me! :D It was merely my extremely humble comment. :)

I love this image very much. My favorite part is the chick on the right with the raised left foot as that shows so much of the struggle it is going through as it is being pushed away from the food. Well, both chicks have an angle as I can see, but the right one does it for me. Exceptional work. Congrats and thanks for sharing. :)

Very cool photograph! Great composition too.Adding effects to subjects, and not backgrounds, is also a good idea (and one I practice as well). regards~Bill

Love the intensity of the drama (fantastic), flow of the composition great. I might play with removing the small block of wood on the front left to simplify a little but I think the seaweed is good there on the left. I like the sand grains being kicked up.

Very, very nice behavior capture Denise!! The action is great! I like the contrast between your poster edge on the birds and the smooth BG. This is dangerously close to being "in the box":D
