This happens to be my first posting on BPN. So, hi everybody!
The painted stork is fairly common large bird (93 cm, about 3 feet) found near lakes and rivers in most of India. It feeds on fish and molluscs. The chicks are a dull brown overall, but the adults display a striking plumage.
    Species: Painted stork (Mycteria leucocephala)
Location: Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary, Karnataka, India
    Date: March, 2007
    Camera: Canon 20D
    Lens: Canon 100-400 at 400mm
    Specs: ISO 100, f 5.6, 1/1000s
Thank you for taking the time out to look, and for your comments/ critiques

Welcome to BPN sir...looking forward to your awesome collection...very nicely captured moment here... the exposure, slight head turn, eye contact and composition work nicely... maybe a slight crop or clone to remove a little distraction at the top of the frame might add but i'm not sure...

Fantastic first post Ajit! WELCOME TO BPN. Exposure and BG are great. Needs some CCW rotation and sharpening with maybe some more room on the bottom. The water droplets and pose really make this an outstanding image of a common (for you) bird. Keep 'em coming!

Great first post, beautiful stork and beautiful colours.
The stork looks relatively upright to me, I agree that the light areas at the top could be cloned out (or similar) but they do not worry me much at all.

My eyes are drawn to the stork and the water droplets.

Welcome to BPN Ajit, and enjoy the ride. Very similar to our yellow billed stork. I like the eye contact, and the curled trail of droplets puts this over the top. I agree with this needind a CCW rotation, as there is a strong halo on his back. I would also run some NR on the BG. Still, keep them coming.

Welcome Aboard Dr. Ajit. as we know your images nothing much to say but a giood image you started with. dropping water adds a lot and the raised neck with a fine eye expression i like a lot.

might agree on the top area reflection needs some attention to work on. rest as always a fine work. keep on posting.

Welcome. Lot of photographers from India joining the club. I appreciate the opportunity to see these birds after many years.

Lovely low angle. Water drops take this to the next level. A little ccw rotation and a little more color sat will make it better IMO. Big congrats.

Welcome Dr. Ajit! Great first post indeed!
In addition to CCW rotation and working on the top of BG, I would also do something about the faint pinkish reflection (vert) in the middle of almost the entire image. Well done mate, let's see some more.
    Fabulous moment! :)
