    Default Pyrausta sp.

Pyrausta sp. (probably Pyrausta aurata), stack of 7 images processed with a current version of CombineZP, Canon 50, Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro @ f/5, 1/10, cropped stacked image just to get rid of the edges (which are messed up during stacking). Berlebach mini tripod, Novoflex macro rail, MLU...

Taken at the Lampertstal nature reserve between Dollendorf and Ripsdorf, NRW, Germany.

Neat image, Karl. The pattern and colors on the back of the moth are lovely and well done. I think you got a little bad luck with the head being almost the exact same color as the perch it's sitting on as it makes it difficult to see where the insect stops and the twig begins. Still, it's a somewhat minor thing.

Lovely BG and nice composition. I'd probably take a little off the bottom of the frame to get the bug a little further from the center position.

Sehr gut! What a beautiful moth. I like the angle of the perch and the colors really pop over the background.
