Nice striding pose and light is good. Lovely spot by the look of it. You guys should talk to the owners to see if a big tree trunk could be fixed to the top of that wall to give you nicer substrate for photography? Possible? Thanks for sharing this magnificent cat!
Beautiful spot light on the face .. lovely head turn and the raised paw makes it a pleasure to the eyes !!
Ákos unlike Africa nobody can own a reserve forest in India :) All the forest cover is maintained by the Govt. of India, so we have to live with whatever setting is available :)
I really like the striding pose and the light hitting the tiger's face. I might consider cropping a bit from the bottom to minimize the wall, not a big deal though.
This image was not shared earlier. Good eyecontact. I Agree with Grace regarding cropping from the bottom to minimize the wall.
Akos, As already mentioned the tiger reserve is owned by Govt. of India. In a few protected areas, there are few tea or coffee plantations. Wildlife spill over to those places and one can photograph. However, permissions to visit those places are not easy.
Thx all, Art Morris hates it when anyone crops the wall. "Dam or No Dam, the image needs space at the bottom" were his words, as I recall :-), so will leave the wall as-is.
Would appreciate any comments about the 'quality of light' in this picture, especially from rnclark. His insight will definitely help me become better, Thanks !
We have a thread on "good light" in the General photo topics, where Roger made a comment and posted a link on an article he's working on about the quality of light:
Lovely image, Kiran! The spotlight effect on the tiger's face is perfect. Sad about the artificial wall, though. Wonder why the forest officials don't make artificial water holes a little more natural-looking? You know, with the use of rocks and fibreglass.
