    Default Need a napkin? (Brant)

I was going for some tight feeding head and shoulder images when this Brant raised its head and offered a surprise wingstretch. I kept the tight crop while it did this, resulting in this interesting full-frame image. I do wish the shadow wasn't cast on the body...I've already lightened it up to about half the darkness it originally was - anyhting more was pushing the IQ on that part of the image.

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/8, ISO 400, -0.3 EC, natural light, handheld.

A little unorthodox here Daniel but it leaves you with a nice composition. The shadow does not bother me, looks fine as is.

    Good Shooting!

I like the light, sharpness, and weed in the beak. Comp works well, and if only he had lifted his head slightly more, to have separated from the wing.

Love the curves. The lightened shadow seems fine to me. Focus is spot on.
