    Was created from a hide in Hungary
    No so common in Hungary...the same in Greece
    In front of the Woodpecker was a small technical lake
    Canon 40D Canon EF 500mm f/4
    1/400 f 4 iso 1000

    Good looking bird, but it feels a little tight in the frame.

    I like the pose, angle and sharpness and would give it more room, especially at the bottom for the 'virtual tail'.

    I agree with the other comments regarding need for room, very animated pose though i like it.

    I wouldn't mind more room all around, but not for the complete "virtual tail" as I feel it has been "virtually cut not clipped" in a good way (does that make sense?) I also feel the HA could have been a bit better. I do like the animated calling pose and the water drops on the plumage.

    I like the calling pose with the open beak, and the droplets on the chest adds to the image. I agree, a little space all round would work.

    I am surprised no one mentioned the big bright BG patch. That really distracts me; sorry Manos. I like the pose but think it's too tight as well. It is so sharp though and love the open bill and water droplets, HA is fine, though not ideal I s'pose. Thanks for sharing. :)
