    I have a love/hate relationship with this image. I have been struggling with the best crop. Any suggestions? Canon 1D Mark II, 100-400 mm lens at 130 mm, 1/1250 sec-1, f/7.1, ISO 400

    Crop is fine, it is what it is.Do you have any more room left? It needs a CW rotation very bad though and I wish the foot didn't touch the wing below :)

    Hi, Thanks for the critique. I agree about the foot. I also was troubled by the apparent need to use about 10 degrees or so of CW rotation. I searched in vain for the horizon which, from other pictures taken at the same time, appears to be just above the large pelican head. The slightly dark areas sloping downward from right to left are the incoming waves.

    Another option would be to make the bird above disappear and go for a pano crop after rotation.
