    Default Assignment: Macro Merge

Did a vertical pano on this shot.(two shots merged and blended together) Focused about half way up. The final measurements were about 9 x 26 inches. Two shots merged using align layers and blend in this one in CS4. Files/stacks/load open files/attempt to align. The colours were off so I then went to edit and then auto-blend. Had to use content aware to stretch the frame and add more canvas to the right. Noise reduction to the BG using Topaz Denoise. Worked off the TIFF files because there were only two.

    Could have used more DOF.
Thought people might have been interested in the vertical pano.

    Hi Lady Jackie,
I like this very much...the color rendition is good with fine sharp details, I like the composition. The dark gray background showcases you subject quite well...good show...looking forward to your next one...

Hi Jackie, I like the subject matter and the pano crop. Nice gradient in the backround with pleasing soft lighting. For my taste I might take a small amount off the top. Very nicely handled.

well, i got no clue what you did, but it looks good to me!! agree with dave, maybe a slither off the top.

that small gradient from the bottom is nice.

I can only echo Harold's comments, except that I'd vote against any sliver off the top. Love the bg. I hope to have 1% of your PS skills someday - most impressive.
    This is a gorgeous image!!!!
Thanks for sharing all the details.

    Hi Jackie,
I think you handled this perfectly, and I love the graduated background as well. Like some others, I don't follow all your tech notes, but that's OK. I find your choice of lens/TC/extender very interesting. It's on my list to learn the advantages of using a long telephoto for a situation like this one. I like everything about this image. Really nice!! I can't wait for your next posting.

Fine image Jackie and the PS continues !!! Great use of the merge and like you pointed out the color ... seems to be the hardest part since it always changes a little and care must be taken !!!
