Very impressive image of the Catbird! I love the open bill and the fact we have a glimpse of the rusty undertail coverts. Are those lilacs in the BG?

I like the angle, sharpness, pose, open beak and BG. BTW, you can post images up to 1024 pixels wide if you want.

Excellent shot of this common bird, nice to see it out of its normal habitat of tangled vines and leaves. Agree it's also a plus to see the rusty patch. Did you pish or coax it out in the open somehow? There are two small dust spots above the end of the tail. Great BG and perch.

Lovely one, loved the open bill and the colourful BG adds well, a bigger image would have made us happier, congrats..

    Beautiful catbird.
Love the light and pose. It would be nice to see this one a little larger.

Thanks All, Pishing would only spook these guys when they are out in the open. The bird was coming for the orange halves I had out for the orioles. The background color is oof columbine.

    Good Shooting!

    Brian,

Excellent image. I tried to get a shot of one of these shy little birds during my brief time in MD last month but he would never perch out in the open for me, so I can really appreciate this. Did you have to wait a long time for this or was your lens pointing in the right place at the right time?
