    Default Bride

Taken at Van Dusen Garden's in Vancouver B.C. There were three weddings at the gardens and I noticed this bride and her bridemaids doing some last minute preparations, so I snapped a few shots. I like this one. My buddy says I cannot post this because I did not get a model release, is that true? She was in a public place and I am not going to be selling her image.

As long as you are not going to sell it for commerical purposes you are fine. Posting it here is not an issue, even running it in a newspaper would be ok.. you just can't sell it for adverts, prints etc without a release.

I'm not sure if Canadian copyright law differs in this respect.

Thanks Lou, that's what I thought but my buddy has a degree in photography and he says that was drilled into them in class but I agree with you. Didn't want to intrude to ask her if she minded or wanted a copy of the image.

Axel, I'll look into it a bit more and post what I find.

Thanks Fabs, we actually saw a little of the wedding. They even had a wedding singer complete with guitar.:D They are shooting a Disney Flick at the gardens and until we saw the actual wedding we (my wife and I) were not sure this wasn't part of the shoot. The funny thing is just south of the wedding they had fake flowers tied to bushes, this in a lovely gardens.
